Microsoft Innovative School
Cornwallis Academy is one of only 33 exemplar Microsoft Innovative Schools in the world. The Microsoft programme works with school leaders and educators to improve learning experiences through ICT to help students build 21st century skills.
Academy Principal, David Simons, said: “We are delighted to be have been chosen by Microsoft as an exemplar to others and thrilled by the opportunity to collaborate with such an impressive group of innovative school leaders. Not only does it mean we can share what we’ve accomplished and the lessons we’ve learned along the way, but also that our students can connect with learners from all over the world.”
For the past two years the Academy have welcomed over 400 education experts from across the globe as part of the Microsoft Innovative Schools World Tour, where Cornwallis have shared knowledge and research about various topics, including:
- The use of virtual and blended learning
- Collaborative teaching
- Personalised learning based on the collection and assessment of student data
