FST Sixth Form Celebrates A-level Success
Future Schools Trust Sixth Form, which is split across Cornwallis and New Line Learning Academies in Maidstone, is proud to announce this year’s excellent results.
Cornwallis Academy secured 32.4% A*-B in A-levels, while New Line Learning Academy celebrated 76.9% of students achieving Distinction* to Merit in BTEC qualifications.
Overall, 131 students sat A-levels with 62% achieving A* - C grades.
Mr Pemberton, who oversees the sixth form, said: “We are delighted but not surprised by these results. Our students, parents and staff have worked incredibly hard, and these results illustrate their dedication and commitment. Well done to all.”
Students leading the success celebrations include deputy head girl, Zoe Hetherington, and deputy head boy, Ben Hartnell.
Zoe achieved a double Distinction* in Business, a Distinction* in travel, an A* in Psychology, a B in English, and C in Government and Politics.
While Ben is heading to Oxford Brookes University to study law after securing his desired grades.
Other students enjoying academic triumph include Sian Killington, who achieved an A* for Sociology and another for Extended Project, as well as B grades for both Media and Psychology.
Among the students who sat BTEC courses, Abdul Khattak and Alfy Knox both received two Distinction * grades and a B grade, Tamana Hasani also achieved two Distinction *s each, and Holly Priestley secured Distinction* in Performing Arts, Business and Travel.
Mr Sutton, Director of Sixth Form at the Cornwallis Academy site, said: “I am extremely proud of the students and the results they have achieved, which reflect their successful journey through the FST Sixth Form.
“On behalf of the Sixth Form team, I would like to wish all of our students every success for the future.”
