Family Fun Day Raises over £1,000
A family fun day helped to raise over £1,000 for the Stroke Association, in support of a New Line Learning Academy student.
The event, which place at the academy in Boughton Lane, Loose, on Saturday, June 3rd, was organised by Deputy Head Boy James Garland and his family.
James wanted to raise funds for the worthy charity as a way of saying thank you for the support he received when he suffered a major and unexpected stroke at the age of 16. Thankfully, the keen performing arts student has gone on to make a full recovery.
James joined at the fair by a number of classmates, staff and people from the local community, who helped to collect a total of £1,026.
The Year 13 student said: “It was a great day and to raise over £1,000 is just amazing. Thank you to everyone who helped out and to those who came along to support us.”
