Former Student Enjoys University Life
A former Cornwallis student has proved he has the drive and determination to succeed in his chosen career path.
Tim Boon is currently in his third year at the University of Hertfordshire, where is he studying Motorsport Technology, with design and management.
Tim was inspired to study the course after another member of Cornwallis’ alumni, Tom Edwards, who studied Product Design at Bournemouth University, delivered a talk to Tim’s class and showed examples of his work.
Now, to hopefully encourage others to pursue a future in graphics or design technology, Tim, contacted his former teacher, Mrs Petch, to share some of the work he has achieved during his degree.
During a recent assignment, Tim was required to design a motorcycle pannier (luggage) rack that holds three boxes, has an underside compartment and weighs under 8kg.
The process began with Tim creating and analysing various concepts using a design selection chart before creating and testing a model version to ensure it would fit the specification.
We look forward to following Tim’s success.
