Healthy eating expert gives pupils some food for thought
Food technology pupils had plenty of information to digest after a visit from nutritionist Dr Nazanin Zand.
The University of Greenwich lecturer visited Cornwallis Academy on Thursday (June 11), to host a presentation about adolescence nutrition.
The hour-long class focused on the importance of healthy eating and the potential dangers of leading an unhealthy lifestyle.
Angela Broom, head of food, said: “We were delighted to welcome Dr Zand back to Cornwallis. Her presentation built upon topics the class has been learning about, such as nutrition, healthy eating and dietary disorders.
“The pupils were enthusiastic and their answers showed how much they enjoyed it.”
Dr Zand, who is based at the university’s Medway campus, said: “I was very impressed by the level of engagement from the pupils. It’s always a pleasure to visit schools and discuss the importance of healthy eating.”
