New Interim Principal Joins Cornwallis Academy
Cornwallis Academy, part of Future Schools Trust, is delighted to announce the appointment of its interim Principal, Isabelle Linney-Drouet.
Mrs Linney-Drouet, who will succeed David Simons, brings a wealth of experience from her role as Vice Principal at Highworth Grammar School, in Ashford, where she is responsible for raising the achievement of pupils to outstanding levels.
She said: "I am delighted to have been given the responsibility to provide an environment where all our students aim high, always try their very best and show respect for all members of our community.
"I would like to thank parents, students, staff and governors for all their support in being committed to working together to ensure that Cornwallis has high expectations. I already feel very proud to be part of Cornwallis’ community and am looking forward to exciting times ahead."
Mr Simons will officially step down as Principal after Christmas to pursue other opportunities in the West Country.
He said: “I would like to thank the staff, students and parents for their support during my time as Principal. It has been a pleasure to work alongside you all.
“I know I leave the academy in a strong position and that it will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
Sir Nick Williams, CEO of Future Schools Trust, said: “On behalf of the Trust, I would like to thank David for his commitment to Cornwallis Academy for the past 11 years. We wish him all the very best for the future.
“I would also like to welcome Isabelle to the role of interim principal. I’m certain she will play a pivotal role in the future of Cornwallis’ success.”
