Year 3 Get the Tills Ringing
Children in Year 3 at Tiger Primary School had the tills ringing at the Spidepede Super Shop.
The youngsters, who are in Spider and Centipede classes, ran their own stalls at the classroom store, with some even making their own merchandise. The variety of stock included newspapers, CDs, dinosaurs, toys and cardboard suitcases, which were the first item to sell out.
To ensure the sale ran smoothly, the children used skills they had recently learnt in maths lessons, such as setting prices, counting change and writing receipts carefully.
Each pupil received a sum of money to buy items of their choice, which required them to budget and provide the correct amount.
Class teacher, Miss Ward, said: "Everyone had a great time and really made a lot effort into making the task a success. The children were careful with their spending and ensure they gave the correct change, as well as a receipt. Well done to Year 3."
