On returning to school students attended a choice of workshops aimed at helping them to plan for their future. These focused on ‘Going to University' and ‘The World of Work'. Year 9 Enterprise Challenge with Stixx
On 26th April Year 9 students at Cornwallis Academy took part in a creative Enterprise Challenge. The youngsters were given a brief to identify a new household product with a unique selling feature, then asked to design and create a prototype. The prototype was made using 'stixx' which are created using rolled newspaper. The event was arranged by the Skills for Life team in partnership with EBP Kent (Education Business Partnership). Skills for Life Coordinator, Andrea Barkaway, said:"Stixx is a creative opportunity for our students to not only design and make a product, but to engage with representatives in the business world in order to develop their understanding of marketing and financing a new product."
