Little Learners Nursery has been graded as good by Ofsted following its first inspection since opening in September 2010.
Little
Learners brand new purpose built premises cater for children aged
between three months to five years. The nursery based at New Line
Learning Academy (NLL) is part of Future Schools Trust, which runs two
academies, NLL and Cornwallis Academy. The nursery is the first of its
kind in Maidstone to be federated with two secondary schools.
The
report states: "All children are valued within the setting and their
individual needs met. Children have good opportunities to learn about
the world in which they live through activities and themes.
Children are secure within the nursery and develop a sense of belonging as they develop relationships with their key person.
Babies
show good attachment to their key workers because of the positive
interaction they receive and the well organised routines, reflecting a
feeling of security."
Little Learners Nursery strives to provide
the best in education and childcare for the early years. Carefully
selected staff, brand new premises and state-of-the-art equipment
provide a calm, safe and caring learning environment for young children.
Nursery
Manager, Hayley Oliver said: "Since opening five months ago the nursery
has gone from strength to strength. At Little Learners we always put
the children's individual needs first and we're absolutely delighted
that this has been recognised in our first Ofsted inspection."
Ofsted
also noted the positive relationship that parents have with the nursery
and said: "Partnerships with parents are becoming well established
helping to promote the links between home and the nursery. Parents are
welcomed into the nursery and are fully involved with all aspects of
their children's learning."
Currently 15 children attend the
nursery which is open weekdays from 7.30am to 6pm during term time. For
many staff at NLL and Cornwallis Academies the nursery is ideally
located and provides high quality and cost-effective childcare ensuring
staff retention and retainment.
Head of NLL Academy, Guy Hewett
said: "Little Learners is an important part of our successful school,
reflecting NLL Academy's commitment to learning from birth onwards. We
are as proud of our babies and toddlers as we are of our wonderful older
students."
Following the recent Ofsted success Little Learners
held its first Open Day on Saturday 5 February. Around 30 prospective
and existing parents attended and as a result there is now a waiting
list for the baby room from September 2011.
