Free fruit for all to try

Students at both New Line Learning and Cornwallis Academies were able to sample a variety of delicious fruits for free on Wednesday 15 June.

The fruit tasting sessions were held at lunch and break time led by Future Schools Trust fruit and vegetable supplier PK Produce based in Biddenden. Items sampled included pears, pineapple, mango and melon. The sessions were designed to promote healthy eating and give students an insight in to product origins and the importance of food miles.

PK Produce also gave a brief talk to Year 9 Food Technology students at Cornwallis Academy and made a smoothie with berries grown just three miles away from the school.
