Record number of visitors at Cornwallis' new build

Since the opening of our superb new building in September 2011 a record number of visitors have passed through the doors at Cornwallis Academy.

Thousands of parents, neighbours and friends of the school have taken tours of Cornwallis' new building at a number of special Community Open Days held during September and October.

Visitors had the opportunity to see the outstanding new facilities and cutting-edge technology on offer, including:

· Plaza learning environments
· Hi-tech specialist rooms
· Four-court sports hall
· Dance, music, art and design technology studios
· Café and dining areas
· Performing arts theatre
· Conference room
· Dedicated Sixth Form centre

On Saturday 24 September, the Academy hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised an impressive £320 for the charity. Members of the public were invited to take tours of the building and enjoy coffee and cake baked by members of staff, in the heartspace.
