Cornwallis Academy is an exciting school, which has just been rated Good by Ofsted in all areas, we are looking to appoint an outstanding classroom practitioner who shows a real passion for the subject and can inspire students about their learning.
You will be joining a well-resourced department that has a relentless focus on raising achievement and which recruits good numbers for post-16 courses. The post offers outstanding opportunities for continuous personal and professional development for a highly motivated and ambitious teacher looking for career advancement. The person appointed would be managed on a day to day basis by the Director of Science and would be supported by two Key Stage managers for Science. At present the department teaches a full suite of Science subjects. At Key Stage 4, Triple Science is taught together with the outgoing Science A and Additional Science qualification and will be replaced by the new AQA Trilogy qualification.
As well as our state of the art facilities, we have an exciting programme of trips, visits, visitors and extra-curricular activities. The successful candidate will be a creative and inspiring Teacher of Science who will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- The ability to teach Science up to KS4 and the potential for development of KS5 teaching
- Possess recent, relevant teaching experience
